by Britta Eskey | May 12, 2021 | compassion, intentions, personal growth, Personal Transformation Stories

Something a lot of people forget is that self-compassion is a good thing. It makes us happier, healthier, and more effective human beings. But we don’t often practice self-compassion because we don’t think we deserve it, or because we think there’s someone else...

Making Healthy Resolutions From a Whole You

by Lee Eskey | Feb 8, 2021 | Growth, new year, personal growth

It’s a universal condition that we make New Year’s resolutions that inevitably lead to failure. When they do, we find ourselves sometimes swinging back even further in the opposite direction. It’s a painful and disappointing experience, which is only made worse...

And the Three Counter-Intuitive Tools to Rebalance It Perfectionism is something that plagues many of us. In a lot of ways, it comes from a good place of wanting to do well, to hold up high ethics and values, and an overall desire to do good in the world. However,...

The Impact of the Shadow Feminine on Men

by Shandra LaMotte | Oct 15, 2020 | Emotions, personal growth, Relationships

All human beings have many different aspects of shadow in themselves. As we go from baby to child to teen to adult, we hit bumps along the way. The way we cope with tough moments, or the times we aren’t deeply recognized, is to build unconscious defenses— our survival...

All of us, at some point in our different relation All of us, at some point in our different relationships, are going to come across conflict.

We live in a complex world where different types of conflict are flying around at all levels. It’s inevitable – conflict is bound to happen in every relationship, whether it’s personal, business-related, or even just between acquaintances.

A lot of the time, when we foresee conflict or sense a challenge coming in conversation, we automatically seek to avoid it. Sometimes we’re required to step in, but we don’t want to, and we try to deflate the conflict as quickly as possible. Sometimes we can disengage entirely, and we choose to do so because that's the easier route.

But what we don’t often talk about is that it costs us to avoid these kinds of conversations.

When we choose not to step into these situations, there’s significant fallout. In fact, something inside us withers and dies if we avoid those conflicts enough.

There are consequences to not knowing who we are. There are consequences to not knowing who we are. We can’t lead, live, or thrive if we don’t know who we are, as human beings, at our deepest core levels.

And I don’t just mean “I know what I like, where I’m from, what I care about…” I mean knowing what it means to be a human person.

When we know who we are, when we can ask ourselves this question and actually get it right, then all kinds of leadership possibilities align.

But when we get it wrong, everything falls out of place. We disown our choices. We become indecisive. We allow life to happen to us in reactivity, instead of claiming life. We move into passivity. We don’t know what the meaning or purpose of life is, so we just let it pass us by.

Alternatively, when we know who we are, our leadership aligns. And from here, our whole love flows in more seamless and connected ways.
Leadership happens in a network, through friends a Leadership happens in a network, through friends and connection and support. It doesn’t happen by yourself, and it really doesn’t make sense to do this work without a community to join you, encourage you, and share in your success.

These are just some of the many tools that we’ve cultivated over many years here at COR. In fact, a lot of these are the exact values and practical tools we teach at our Leadership Development Training. So if any of these speak to you, and if you feel you’re ready to take them on, I invite you to check out the LDT. We set aside the better part of a year to cultivate, focus on, and learn about these tools and how they can help you be a better leader in your own life.

The LDT is being offered both online and in-person. The in-person training runs from May 10th – 15th, and the online version will be from May 20th – 22nd.
There are only a few spots left for the in-person training, so sign up now!

Check it out: link in bio.
