I really love the work we do at Celebration of Being.  Being able to assist men and women as they step into their Healthy Selves, opening their eyes-sometimes for the very first time-to the gift they are to the world, is very a rewarding way to spend my time.  After the Initiations, the focus becomes reminding ourselves of who we truly are, especially when life challenges us.

I’d like to suggest that one of the best tools to maintain our Healthy Self is to be of service.  It’s a “double gift.”
Being of service to those around us isn’t a good thing to do once we have our own house in order, once we’ve taken care of ourselves. Rather, it’s an intrinsic part of our own journey to wholeness.  It’s a double gift – it brings love to those we serve and also reminds us of our own belovedness.

The paradox of service is that we are most fulfilled when we are giving to others.  As Francis of Assisi said, “It is in giving that we receive.”  I truly think a little, unique miracle of grace happens when we are willing to give.
Within our own COB community, many of you give back by staffing COB weekends, being “Angels” following a Noble Man or Power of Love weekend, mentoring new participants, giving to the scholarship fund, and supporting each other on the COB Facebook page.
Thank you for being such a giving community!
Later in the month we’ll look at how to develop the beautiful “practice” of being of service.  For now, let me suggest, especially if you’re feeling less than your Healthy Self, that today you find one simple, generous act of service you can do for someone else and do it.  It may even just be being truly present with someone.  Don’t underestimate the power of your presence!
We would love to hear from you on our Facebook page – how did your act of service go for you this week?
All the Best,
Lee
