Important Information for Your Upcoming
Leadership Development Training (Module 4)

We are looking forward to “seeing” you soon at LDT Module 4. Please read this page in its entirety to make sure you have all the information you need.

As you now know from LDT Modules 1, 2 & 3, it will take some dedication to turn your home into the perfect online learning environment, and the intention of this page is to support you in setting this up for yourself. By choosing to let go of the usual habits of distraction, online time, unnecessary busyness and tasks that can wait, we will all make this another beneficial healing and learning time.

LDT Module 4:

Please make sure you clear your calendar to be present for all these sessions. If you live in the Eastern time zone and it’s too late for you to stay for the Examen Prayer and Chanting sessions, we will be recording it and you can use the recordings for yourself on the following nights. We expect you to be present for all the sessions as you, and the whole group, will receive the maximum benefit this way. With that said, we will be recording them all, should you have to miss one in an emergency.

CREATE A SPACE FOR YOURSELF

◇ Refraining from Distractions:
Being in the LDT means minimizing communication with others and refraining from news and entertainment. Structure your training days with simplicity—put an away message on your email, save your snail mail for later, prepare the simplest meals you can… some in advance if you’re able to.

◇ Requesting support from people you live with:
If you are living with others, tell them about the schedule and lovingly request that they give you space, especially during the session hours, but even, if possible, during the breaks.
Here are some phrases to make that request: “Would you be willing to……….…? Then “This is what it would mean to me:…………..” Then, something that expresses your gratitude, like “Thank you so much. You are such a support to me, it makes my heart sing.”

◇ Set Your Intention:
In the days before the training begins, take some moments to consider what is calling you to leadership. It may be that you’re doing this for the benefit of yourself and those around you. It may be to undertake this training to deepen your leadership and facilitation skills and your connection with Grace. It may be to let something in you go, so something new can come forth. It may be so you can open to more presence, steadiness and compassion, for yourself and others. It may be to release your fears and become more loving, to contribute more to our world.…

◇ A Sacred Space:

We highly recommend you participate in this retreat in a quiet, dedicated place in your home, with your door closed if you live with others. If your household is very busy, loud, or distracting, you may consider staying somewhere else where you will have peace and quiet.
Wherever you’ll end up staying, ideally, besides a table or desk, you’d also have a homemade altar or shrine where you can light candles, place flowers and/or inspiring images or items that remind you of the Sacred.

YOU WILL NEED

◇ Any materials needed to do your review presentation (to the whole cohort)

◇ Any materials needed to present a process of your project (to your small group)

◇ A private space at least 6’x6’. This a place that you can make your own, not be interrupted, and can make some noise.

◇ A smartphone and a laptop (charge both at night)

◇ Headsets for both phone and laptop (some elements will be more auditory than visual, and your phone will be preferable)

◇ Zoom installed on your phone and laptop

◇ A journal and a pen

◇ 1-3 pillow(s)

◇ A mat (or a soft carpet) to lie on

◇ A tissue box

◇ You might want to have a bluetooth speaker so you can hear the music more loudly (here’s one we like)

◇ A Spotify account. It’s free and some music we use will be available there

◇ Access to the outdoors

◇ Please wear loose clothes

◇ Your LDT Binder

◇ Enough food in the house for 3 days, ideally previously prepared
